The Department of Pain and Palliative Care (DPPC) is a well-established, state-wide palliative care service, dedicated to providing best palliative consultative care to over 600 new patients with cancer annually, and furthering the knowledge base of palliative care. Particular areas of expertise and interests are the development of models of integration of palliative care in oncology care, cancer pain management and palliative care for adolescents and young adults. Undergraduate and postgraduate education is provided for all health disciplines and through programs at the University of Melbourne. The DPPC has a well- developed research and Quality Assurance program. A 0.1EFT position exists for a suitably qualified and experienced psychiatrist to join the established service. The position may be adapted to the skill set and interest of the applicant but will include clinical, education and research aspects within the scope of the session. The position will focus on consultation within the ambulatory care setting and will enhance the clinical and educational links between the palliative care and psychiatry services.

Palliative Care Education Coordinator 0.6 EFT – South Eastern Palliative Care
South East Palliative Care (SEPC) is a dynamic community palliative care organisation that is situated in a culturally diverse and growing population, and is a leader in the provision of specialist health care services at home.
We believe in providing care of the highest standard to people with a life limiting illness within a holistic approach.
Reporting to the Clinical Operations Manager and in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team, you will provide co-ordination and delivery of a program of clinical knowledge development for the SEPC clinical team, congruent with the delivery of specialist services. As Palliative Care Education Coordinator, you will also tailor, coordinate and deliver palliative care education programs for primary health care providers/partners, with the aim of developing capacity across the health sector for the provision of a palliative approach for people with life limiting illness.
With qualifications in education and training along with other relevant clinical qualifications, you will have proven experience and demonstrable ability in clinical education. Palliative Care Physician 0.5EFT – Victorian Paediatric Palliative Care Program
The Victorian Paediatric Palliative Care Program based at the Royal Children’s Hospital is seeking an experienced palliative care physician to work as part of its multidisciplinary team. The team is comprised of a paediatrician, specialist nurses, an occupational therapist and case manager.
This role comprises both clinical and educational components. The clinical component provides secondary consultation to health professionals across the state on matters relating to the palliative care of children.
Qualifications required: MBBS FRACP/FAChPM. Some experience in the palliative care of children is desirable but not essential.

Peter MacCallum Pain & Palliative Care Specialist Position
The position consists of an 0.5 EFT appointment within the DPPC. The position offers an exciting opportunity for a medical practitioner with expertise in the clinical, research and educational aspects of Pain and Palliative Medicine to join with others from the Medical, Nursing and Allied Health professions to advance the practice of Palliative Care in Cancer Medicine.
As a precinct member of the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer centre (VCCC), the successful applicant may also be considered for a joint appointment/cross appointment within Melbourne Health (0.2 – 0.3 EFT).

Particular duties of this role include:
• Undertaking a senior clinical role in inpatient and ambulatory consultative pain and palliative care with the possibility of engagement in the provision of rural palliative care through occasional clinics and/or telehealth
• Undertaking and promoting interdisciplinary research at a State and National level, both individually and in collaboration with other members of the DPPC
• Assisting in the delivery of high quality undergraduate and postgraduate pain and palliative medicine educational programs
• Participating in the interdisciplinary management of patients with chronic pain post cancer treatment
The successful appointee will have appropriate qualifications and substantial postgraduate clinical and research experience related to pain &/or palliative care.
Applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:
• Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), Palliative Medicine, or Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (FAChPM), or Fellow of the Australian New Zealand College of Anaesthetists, Pain Medicine (FPMANZCA)
• Recognised by Medicare as a specialist in Palliative Care Medicine/Pain Medicine
• Significant clinical experience in Palliative Care/Pain Medicine

Remedial Massage Therapist (3 days a week)
Banksia Palliative Care Service is seeking to appoint an appropriately qualified and experienced remedial massage therapist for an immediate start with our clinical services team.
The person we are seeking must be an Australian citizen, hold a current unrestricted driver’s licence and have recent or current experience working with oncology and palliative care clients preferably in the community. You will be a ‘people person’ with a friendly disposition and be able to work autonomously. Ideally you will have an approachable, calm persona and a ‘light touch’ as our clients are vulnerable with many having significant comorbitities, including bone pain and oedema.
We are looking for that special person who will make the role their own and grow and improve the role in accordance with our strategic plan. The role requires the planning and management of a busy, daily schedule, waiting list, stock and equipment and accurate up to date computerised clinical records and statistics.
