What will you do?

You will lead and manage a team of highly skilled nurses to deliver interdisciplinary palliative care to our clients and their carers. In a complex palliative care environment, your leadership and support is important to enable the staff team to effectively deliver the services.

What do you need to become the Coordinator of Nursing Services?

You will hold a post graduate qualification in palliative care or relevant discipline at graduate, diploma or masters level. A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in specialist palliative care or related field. You will show leadership experience and skills that will support change and continuous improvement to achieve service requirements.

Selection Criteria

Appointment to this position is subject to completion of a National Police Check, an Employee Victorian Working with Children Check, current Driver’s License and an International Police Check (if applicable).

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential
• Registered Nurse Division 1
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in specialist palliative care or related field
• Post-graduate qualification in palliative care or relevant discipline at graduate diploma or masters level
• Ability to work autonomously and as a team member within a framework of collaboration
• Advanced knowledge and skills in the principles and practices of palliative care delivery
• Knowledge of and competency in quality and safe use of medicines used in community-based palliative care practice
• Knowledge of clinical investigations required in palliative care practice
• The ability to work effectively in stressful situations and resolve conflict
• The capacity to be flexible and adaptable, with effective problem solving skills
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• The ability to accommodate and work with change
• Skills in staff supervision, including mentoring and performance development
• Excellent interpersonal written, verbal and negotiation skills
• Demonstrated competency with mobile information technology and associated programs

Desirable
• Qualifications in business as related to health
