Summary

Working within an interdisciplinary team, the Spiritual Care Worker provides supportive and responsive spiritual care for palliative care patients and their families/carers within a multi-faith setting. The role provides emotional and spiritual support throughout all stages of palliative care, including bereavement

Selection Criteria

Key Selection Criteria
• Tertiary Qualification in Theological/Religious Studies, including the completion of at least two units of Clinical Pastoral Education
• Eligible for membership of Spiritual Health Victoria
• Sound knowledge and experience in the provision of spiritual/pastoral care theology to a diverse range of clients with demonstrated proficiency in spiritual care assessment, intervention, pastoral counselling and care planning.
• Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision within an interdisciplinary team.
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills as well as skills in organisation, administration, time management, planning and priority setting.
• Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Office Suite and medical records database.

• Client Care (including assessment and care planning)
• Coordination of Spiritual Care Referrals
• Integrated, Interdisciplinary Teamwork
• Facilitation of bi-annual Remembrance Service

Other requirements
• Satisfactory National Criminal History (Police) check
• Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• Current valid Australian drivers licence
