Summary

Working within an interdisciplinary team, the Allied Health Assistant (AHA) provides a supportive and responsive client centred service for palliative care patients and their families/carers under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist and the Allied Support Co-ordinator.

The AHA works collaboratively within the Interdisciplinary Team to provide clinical and administrative support and also works in partnership with appropriate external stakeholders or community service providers as required.

Selection Criteria

• Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance specialising in Occupational Therapy (Essential)
• Previous experience in Allied Health Assistant role or working in an interdisciplinary allied health team or other community setting
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills as well as skills in organisation, administration, time management, planning and priority setting
• Experience in working in a palliative care environment (Desirable)

Other requirements
• Satisfactory National Criminal History (Police) check
• Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• Current valid Australian drivers’ licence
