About Us

The Supportive and Palliative Care Service provides a bi-disciplinary Palliative Care Consultancy Service and works in close partnership with McCulloch House, a Level 3, 16 bed Inpatient Palliative Care Unit. We are a supportive and well established team within a large tertiary metropolitan health service seeing on average 1800 patients per year. In addition, this service contributes to teaching, education and research efforts within Monash Health, and in collaboration with Monash University.

About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished and motivated nurse to join the Palliative Care Consultancy Service at Monash Health. This position offers the opportunity to extend your Palliative Care skills to include a part of the patient experience whilst in the dynamic environment of an acute care setting.

Selection Criteria

The successful applicant will demonstrate strong clinical expertise with the capacity to work both autonomously and collaboratively with a wide variety of medical specialities. Demonstrated expertise in physical and psychosocial assessment and symptom control will be required to undertake this role. Excellent communication skills are essential. This will include liaison with community service providers and inpatient palliative care facilities.

Key Selection Criteria for this role are outlined below:

- Extensive experience in the areas of Oncology and/or Palliative Care
- Completion of, or working toward a post graduate qualification in relevant field
- High level of computer literacy
- Current AHPRA registration
- Current driver’s license and own vehicle
