Trend in palliative care service funding in Victoria 2014-15 to 2018-19

Victoria has gone backwards in meeting the community need for palliative care. Available data indicates Victorian Government recurrent funding for inpatient and community palliative care services declined by 4% between 2014-15 and 2018-19 (after adjusting for wage and price increases).Furthermore, this means there has been no capacity to respond to the growing community need for palliative care services, a cumulative increase of 20% based on Victorian Government estimates over the past 5 years.
