Summary

Start your volunteer experience by attending an information session for new volunteers on - Thursday August 11, 2022 from 10am-11am or - Thursday August 18, 2022 from 6pm-7pm at Ballarat Hospice Care, 1836 Sturt Street, Alfredton, VIC We have several types of volunteer opportunities for you choose from.

Selection Criteria

We have a number of different types of volunteering roles. By attending the information session you will learn more and about the process to become a volunteer. All volunteer roles require:
1. Willingness to take direction
2. Willingness to attend meetings as required
3. Willingness to obtain a National Police Check and a Working With Children Check
4. Willingness to provide proof of flu vaccination
5. Ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision
6. Ability to work safely within OH&S guidelines
7. Willingness to wear or utilize Personal Protective Equipment as directed
8. Willingness to undertake all in-house training and quality improvement initiatives in order to meet the ongoing requirements of the volunteering role
9. Understanding and commitment to the philosophy of palliative care and values of Ballarat Hospice Care.
10. Demonstrated understanding and acceptance of own personal experiences of loss, grief and coping.

Also required:
• Current Police Check
• Current Working With Children Check
• Current Driver Licence (if applicable)
• Proof of flu vaccination (or evidence to support reason for abstaining)
