Spreading the palliative care word

Echuca Regional Health palliative care team embraced this year's theme for National Palliative Care Week 2023

Palliative care team members donned t-shirts emblazoned with the NPCW 2023 logo, Matters of life and death, to help promote the benefits of palliative care to their community and work colleagues.

(L-R) Team members Lynsey Tait, Lauren Henson, Ruth Wild, Lori McCormick (NUM sub-acute ward), Jo Amos, Katherine Formica (NUM community palliative care ), Angela Procter, Libby Bell and Denise Inwood

Amongst the week's activities the team hosted a lunch for the entire organisation and their bereavement walking group members. Those attending were invited to bring a dish that reminded them of a lost loved one.

The  week's events wrapped up on the Friday with a tour of the hospital handing out self-care treats for the staff.  In the words of Katherine Formica, NUM community palliative care ...

"We certainly spread the palliative care word that is for sure!"
