The Novice to Advanced Practice Frameworks (Frameworks) for Nurses and Allied Health professionals delivering specialist community palliative care, were developed by members of the Victorian Community Palliative Care Clinical Managers Forum in 2024/2025 with input from subject matter experts and peak professional organisations.
The purpose of the Frameworks is to provide a guide for professional development and capacity building of qualified health professionals promoting evidence-based community palliative care practice and seeking to reduce clinical practice variation in Victoria.
Service providers may seek to use these Frameworks to develop similar guidance and may customise the content to reflect individual organisational governance structures and their health professionals’ scope of practice.
These Frameworks are curated by Palliative Care Victoria. PCV acknowledges and commends the work undertaken by the clinical leaders responsible for developing these extraordinary resources.
These resources will be reviewed annually by members of the Victorian Community Palliative Care Clinical Managers Forum to ensure they remain current, useful and relevant.
