Heike Fleischmann, PCV’s Volunteer Engagement & Capacity Building Manager, recently visited Bendigo Health, and was grateful for the opportunity to meet with so many dedicated volunteers and staff members. "The volunteers are so passionate and their contribution is highly appreciated."

Bendigo Health volunteers participate across a range of services including Hospice, Spiritual Care, Day Support Program, Biography program, Cancer Service music program, the Gobbe Wellness Centre and the Volunteer office.
Hospice volunteers Leanne and Ronda shared their stories and experiences with Heike, and she was deeply moved by their dedication and commitment. Leanne has been a volunteer for over 22 years and Ronda for over 12 years. Both shared how much they get out of volunteering and that they feel it is a privilege to support patients at the end of their lives and their families.
The newly built Bendigo Health facility is an impressive sight with greenery everywhere. The buildings architecture is noteworthy with its modern design and sustainability features. The Gobbe Wellness Centre is an oasis of calm that helps cancer patients with their healing and self-care.
Heike's visit was a fulfilling experience and a wonderful opportunity to meet and learn from so many passionate volunteers and staff members. Bendigo volunteers rock!
