Palliative Care Victoria is thrilled to announce the launch of the groundbreaking research paper, ‘My Choice of Care’, developed in collaboration with the Australian GLBTIQ Multicultural Council (AGMC).

This work seeks to foster equity and inclusion among palliative care service providers for multicultural multifaith LGBTQIA+ communities.
The launch event will be held at the Multicultural Hub, 506 Elizabeth St Melbourne, on July 18 2023 at 2.00-3.30pm, and will serve as a platform for unveiling the comprehensive research conducted by AGMC on behalf of Palliative Care Victoria.
The research paper delves into the experiences and challenges faced by the multicultural multifaith LGBTQIA+ community in accessing quality palliative care, and focuses on strategies to enhance equity and inclusion within the sector.
We are delighted to announce that Victorian Multicultural Commissioner Dr Judy Tang will MC the event. Judy is a former AGMC President, and a strong advocate for multiculturalism and LGBTQIA+ communities with expertise in psychology, ageing, research and mental health.
Further, we are proud to have The Hon. Harriet Shing, Minister for Equality, as our esteemed keynote speaker.
In addition to the keynote address, a panel of thought leaders will be sharing their expertise and engage in a compelling discussion about the research findings, and the strategies for creating a compassionate, equitable and inclusive palliative care environment.
This event represents a significant milestone in the journey toward improving access to quality palliative care for all Victorians.
