Summary
An exciting opportunity is available for a Research Fellow to join the School of Clinical Sciences within the Faculty of Medicine at Monash University on a 12-month fixed-term basis.
The research will explore enhanced telehealth capabilities for improved patient and clinical experiences and outcomes in palliative care (cancer and non-malignant chronic conditions). The multidisciplinary team for which the successful candidate will be a part of will utilise experienced based co-design, develop technology solutions, undertake feasibility and evaluative clinical research. It is a collaborative project between Monash Health, Monash University (Faculty of Information Technology), National Digital Health CRC, and the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services.

Selection Criteria
In this role, you will be reporting directly to the Director of Supportive and Palliative Care, Monash Health and to the Project Lead in the Faculty of IT. You will have the opportunity to design and implement clinical evaluations, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team across medical and information domains, lead clinical research coordination, provide regular research updates whilst ensuring research milestones are met, and develop your independent research skills.
This can include:
- Proactively undertaking a range of research and contributing to the production of conference and seminar papers and publications from that research
- Providing supervision and a range of guidance to research-support staff and junior members of research-only Academic staff
- Coordinating and where appropriate, preparing research proposal submissions to external funding bodies
- Monitoring administrative functions in the area of expertise
- Co-Supervising major honours or postgraduate research projects within the field of research
This position is suited to a highly motivated individual who holds a doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline area or equivalent qualifications or research experience. Additionally, the successful candidate will have advanced computer literacy and proficiency with using software such as Microsoft Office applications and other specified University software programs and demonstrate the ability to quickly adapt to and learn new systems. Familiarity or previous experience with using telehealth software will be preferred.
