Summary

Banksia Palliative Care Service (Banksia) is a community based interdisciplinary palliative care service in the North-East region of Melbourne. Services are provided to clients living in Banyule, Nillumbik and Whittlesea. The office is situated in Heidelberg. Banksia is a dynamic organisation that has more than doubled in size, and has more than doubled client numbers in the last couple of years. We are seeking a focused, strong, engaged person to join our exceptional team of highly capable and professional clinicians and therapists, to enhance our provision of exceptional community palliative services. Banksia’s Personal Care Assistant (PCA) will work under the direction of our Nurse Team Leaders, Clinical Nurse Consultants and the Enrolled Nurse Team Leader. It will suit a person who is an excellent communicator, who is excited by growth and improvement, strives to achieve productive outcomes every day, and importantly, is passionate about providing high quality clinical support to our palliative clients and their carers in their homes.

Selection Criteria

Certificate III or IV in Aged care- essential Experience in working in a community based organisation and/or Aged Care- desirable A commitment to philosophy of community based palliative care within a client centred model- essential Ability to prioritise workload and respond effectively to competing demands. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. High level computer literacy. Ability to build and maintain successful professional relationships. Ability to work positively and proactively within an interdisciplinary team. Ability to provide care to meet the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse clients. A current and unrestricted drivers license- essential Permanent Australian residency- essential COVID Vaccine Certificate including booster dose- essential NOTE: A working with children’s card and a national police check are mandatory prior to commencing this position.
