Summary

The Australian Health Services Research Institute (AHSRI) is a self-funded research unit that improves the management and provision of health services in Australia. AHSRI’s reach is international. Its impact spans policy, research and healthcare delivery.

The Palliative Aged Care Outcomes Program (PACOP) is a new initiative funded by the Department of Health.  The program aims to systematically improve the care and outcomes of residents in residential aged care—including the management of pain, other symptoms  and psychosocial/spiritual distress—and the wellbeing of their informal carers and family.

An exciting opportunity exists for a talented professional from a health (or clinical) background with experience in palliative or aged care and effective skills in communication, education, health information, research and quality improvement.  This position will be co-located with the Aged and Community Care Providers Association in Melbourne.

The PACOP Improvement Facilitator is a key member of a team who together deliver the national PACOP program. A key function of the position is to lead activities, contributing to clinical and professional practice changes within participating aged care homes based on the outcomes of research activity.
