Summary

Volunteer Guides are needed to assist visitors to Calvary Kooyong find their way around the new precinct. This exciting new role would be a first point of contact for patients, residents, visitors and the community and has been created to improve the experience of all visitors and to support the smooth transition of Bethlehem hospital back to Caulfield together with a new residential aged care facility and premium retirement living. It is a great opportunity for you to be part of the new precinct from the beginning.

This role will commence on 9 January 2023 until end of February 2023. Timeslots will be 8.30am – 11.30am, 11.30am – 2.30pm, 2.30pm – 5.30pm, seven days per week. Consideration will be given after this time for continuation of the role as part of the regular volunteer program.

What We Offer

The volunteer guide program will be available between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, Monday to Sunday, with each day broken into 3 timeslots. One full day of mandatory training in mid-December.

Selection Criteria

•  No qualifications necessary. 
• Available for one regular 3 hour shift per week.
• Satisfactory completion of the interview process, referee checks, CrimCheck and all Calvary required training (including e-learning and practical modules). 
• Effective listening and clear communication skills.
• Thorough understanding of confidentiality and privacy needs.
• Excellent customer service skills.Ability to relate and engage with people with a diverse range of backgrounds.
• Ability to be compassionate and empathetic.
• Ability to undertake work with minimal supervision.
