Summary
Palliative Care South East provides palliative care in the south east metropolitan region of Melbourne. We support people with a life-limiting illness to live well and, in doing so, provide support at home to improve the quality of life of individuals, carers and families. Our specialist palliative care services are provided to people of all ages, free of charge, in the Local Government areas of Cardinia, Casey, Greater Dandenong and part of Kingston.
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced and qualified Clinical Educator to join our leadership team on a permanent part-time basis (0.6) FTE. The Clinical Educator is responsible for assessment, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating educational resources that meet the learning needs of the interdisciplinary clinical team and effectively supports their ongoing professional development.
Responsilbities
- Apply the principles of Adult Learning Theory in the assessment, design and delivery of education programs.
- Utilise workforce capability and competency-based frameworks to identify the scope and content of education programs.
- Implement a novice to expert approach to identify and prioritise group and individual practitioners’ learning needs.
- Demonstrate an innovative approach to the delivery of training programs that utilise various delivery modalities.
- Track, monitor and evaluate education programs.
- Provide education opportunities aimed at capacity building for the interdisciplinary care team that facilitates the provision of high quality, evidence-based palliative care.

Selection Criteria
- Registered Nurse (Division 1) & current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (minimum).
- Postgraduate qualification in Palliative Care or Education is advantageous.
- Previous experience in managing educational programs in a health care context.
- Leadership or management experience leading cultural change in a team.
- Experience and/or high-level understanding of the palliative care approach and specialist palliative care context.
