Summary
The Parkville Integrated Palliative Care Service is a well-established team, dedicated to providing best palliative care and furthering knowledge and research derived understanding to improve the care we provide our patients and the community.
The service operates as a single service across the Parkville Precinct, including at The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, The Royal Melbourne Hospital and The Royal Women’s Hospital, with community outreach services to our local community, throughout Melbourne and with outreach clinics to Mildura and statewide service through the Victorian Palliative Care Advice Service.
Undergraduate and postgraduate education is provided for all health disciplines and through programmes at the University of Melbourne. The department has a well-developed research and Quality Assurance program and participates in PCOC and PaCCSC.
About the role
The position consists of a 0.6 EFT appointment within the Parkville Integrated Palliative Care Service, with appointment through the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Particular duties of this role include:
- For those with appointment >=0.4EFT including these sessions, rotation throughout our precinct service including periods of rostered time as Ward Service consultant for our palliative care wards at RMH and Peter Mac, RMH Consult Service or Peter MacCallum Consult Service
- Additional sessions in outpatient clinics, RAPID Outreach program and/or consultant supervision at Melbourne City Mission Palliative Care
- Undertaking and promoting interdisciplinary research at a State and National level, both individually and in collaboration with other members of the department
- Assisting in the delivery of high quality palliative medicine educational programs for medical student training and supervision/training of advanced trainees in palliative medicine

Selection Criteria
Applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:
- Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Palliative Medicine, and/or Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (FAChPM).
- Recognised by the AHPRA as a specialist in Palliative Care Medicine
- Significant clinical experience in Palliative Care
