Summary

Eastern Palliative Care (EPC) is a not-for-profit organisation that delivers home-based palliative care to clients and their families living within the Eastern Metropolitan Region of Melbourne. About the role
This position is suited to an individual who has a hard-working and proactive style and sets their own high expectations to deliver outcomes in an efficient and timely manner. You can navigate the dynamic nature of the role and require minimal supervision to manage your workload. You will possess strong time management and a high level of organisation skills, communicate confidently and have the ability to think broadly and prioritise well while working under pressure.

In addition, you will be proficient in minute taking at a Governance level, compiling Board papers and presentations, with experience in governance administration. You will have a strong capability in diary and email management. Confidentiality and high ethical standards play an important role at all times. Previous experience in a similar role and in dealing with people at Governance and executive level is essential. Attendance at meetings which may occur out of normal business hours is required.

Selection Criteria

To be successful, in addition to the above attributes you will have:

  • Qualification in Office Administration or Secretarial/Business Studies. 
  • High level of competency in software applications e.g.: Microsoft Office/Word/Excel, Publisher and competency in Microsoft Teams and Zoom. 
  • Ability to accurately minute governance and other meetings as allocated.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the provision of administration for boards, board sub-committees and operational committees including agenda and minutes, follow up of actions, and management, collation and distribution of papers. 
  • Previous experience in a health setting an advantage. 
  • Ability to work with a high level of independence and autonomy. 
  • Current Victorian driver’s licence, good driving record and willingness to use own vehicle in accordance with EPC Policy and Process.
