McCulloch House is a 16-bed Inpatient unit based at Clayton. Our team work closely with all facets of Monash Health services, from inpatient wards to our Specialist Palliative Care Nurse Consultant Service, to Hospital in the Home and Community Palliative Care. Our innovative Palliative Care team looks to the future to offer our patients a wide variety of care options suitable to their needs.

A Day in the Life
No two days will be the same as you work with an established team who are at the forefront of change within Palliative Care. Our affiliation with Monash University enables us to readily access the significant research undertaken in the area, and we are open to using a range of evidence-based techniques in our practice. You will work closely with patients and their families to deliver excellent patient centred care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. You will be required to demonstrate comprehensive patient assessment, symptom management, and preservation of dignity in end of life care, patient advocacy and complex discharge planning.

We are looking for Registered and/or Enrolled Nurses to work rotating shifts across a 24/7 roster.

About you

You are an experienced Registered Nurse with a comprehensive understanding of Palliative Care. You have a genuine passion and interest for this unique are of nursing and you are compassionate and committed to excellence in nursing care. You demonstrate strong communication and negotiation skills, you have the resilience to manage your responsibilities across a variable unit as a part of a devoted team.

  • Enthusiastic, compassionate & able to work collaboratively.

What you need:

  • Current AHPRA registration. 
  • Recent EEN or RN experience.
  • While you have had some exposure to Palliative Care, experience in a dedicated Palliative Care unit is not mandatory.
  • Post Graduate studies in Palliative Care will be highly regarded.
