Summary

Are you a motivated, passionate, experienced Registered Nurse wanting to join our dynamic, cohesive and caring clinical team?

We are seeking a person who is willing to get out of their comfort zone, who is a great communicator, rises to the challenges of a changing environment, can identify and appreciate the strengths of people in diverse groups and strives to achieve productive outcomes each day, every day - we are looking for the right person.

Experience in either or both community nursing and palliative care is definitely an advantage, however not essential because we are willing to train and educate as we focus on achieving our goal to meet the needs of every palliative client in our region. What is essential is a positive, flexible attitude, a willingness to work in a dynamic space with dynamic people, and an interest in participating in the development and delivery of a model that is effective, contemporary and uniquely customed to our individual client and carer needs.
* This position will not suit graduate nurses.

Selection Criteria

Noting that our clients are people, sometimes children, who are living with a progressive terminal illness and require specialist palliative care in their home, the successful candidate will

  • Have completed a Bachelor of Nursing and have a minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience (mandatory).
  • Have current, unrestricted AHPRA registration (mandatory)
  • Be a strong, highly motivated, flexible, brave, empathetic person with a strong team mentality and a passion for providing the best care to palliative patients and their families.
  • Preferably have relevant clinical experience in palliative care (inpatient, aged care and/or community experience would be viewed favourably).
  • Be motivated by working as part of a cohesive, respectful and dynamic multidisciplinary team.
  • Have a demonstrated ability to work unsupervised while maintaining accountability.
  • Be available and willing to work a flexible roster which will include weekends, after-hours and on-call as rostered (when trained).
  • Be willing to undertake education and training to learn about palliative care and community working models.
  • Work with a newly formed leadership group who focus on team and prioritise wellness and a positive workplace culture.
  • Hold an unrestricted driver's license and have access to a vehicle and be willing to it for work when requested (with re-imbursement).
  • Have permanent Australian residency (essential)
  • Have a current working-with-children certificate and agree to have a national police check - mandatory.
What is offered

Our employees enjoy a range of benefits including:

  • Full Salary Packaging entitlements ($15,900.00 annually) including meals and entertainment cards and novated car leasing.
  • Staff Wellness package which includes Team Days, education forums and a comprehensive EAP.
  • Full orientation and structured support and training at commencement of employment, and continuing as needed, professional development and specialised training.
