This is a wonderful opportunity to join a dynamic multidisciplinary palliative care team within one of Melbourne’s premier Hospitals. If you have excellent communication skills, a proven track record for developing and evaluating MT services, initiative and can work independently and as part of dedicated team, are passionate about MT and its benefits in palliative care, then read on.
The Palliative Care Service provides a predominantly consultative service to inpatients and outpatients at all three campuses of Alfred Health. Team members include consultant medical staff, palliative care nurse coordinators, a junior medical staff, a Grief Counsellor as well as an office manager. Referrals are received from all medical and surgical units including specialist areas such as Medical Oncology, Haematology, Heart Lung Replacement Services, Intensive Care and Rehabilitation Wards.

Selection Criteria
Skills and experience required:
- Musical proficiency in at least one musical instrument,
- Undergraduate or Post Graduate Degree in Music Therapy from an approved training course
- Registration with the Australian Music Therapy Association (AMTA) Inc.
- Current relevant licensing
- Demonstrated ability to work with issues associated with death and dying and bereavement
