Two positions available:
- 1 x Ongoing Part time opportunity, 64 hours a fortnight
- 1 x Max-term Part time opportunity until 2 May 2027, 48 hours a fortnight
MCM provides expert in-home palliative care services 7 days a week in the cities of Hume, Merri-bek, Darebin and Yarra. Our client-centred care is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
These positions are located within MCM Palliative Care (MCMPC) division and implements MCM’s commitment to best practice in palliative care. Working as a member of an interdisciplinary team and in collaboration with external health professionals, the Palliative Care Registered Nurse will provide specialist palliative care to MCMPC clients in accordance with the values, policies and procedures of MCMPC, and within the philosophy and organisational values of MCM.
Selection Criteria
To be successful you will have the following:
- Medication Endorsement with current certification from the Nursing and Midwifery Board AHPRA.
- Minimum of four years’ post graduate work experience, preferably in Palliative Care or Oncology.
- Community nursing experience highly desirable.
- Postgraduate qualifications in palliative care and/or oncology, or working towards
- The ability to work in an environment in which clients have a terminal illness and demonstrated sensitivity to people living with a terminal illness and those who are dying or bereaved.
- Demonstrated high level clinical decision-making and assessment skills.
- Competence with electronic client records and well-developed computer skills.

- Applicants with experience in palliative care will be employed as a Grade 3 Registered Nurse.
- Successful applicants without palliative care experience will be employed as a Grade 2 Registered Nurse.
