The Victorian Palliative Care Advice Service at the Royal Melbourne Hospital provides compassionate, evidence-based care to people living with life-limiting illness and their families. Working in collaboration with health professionals across Victoria, the service supports best practice in palliative and end-of-life care through clinical expertise, education, and innovation ensuring every Victorian has access to quality care when it matters most.
In this role you will coordinate and manage the delivery of the Victorian Palliative Care Advice Service (PCAS):
- Oversee day to day operations, including budget management, rostering, reporting, and service improvement initiatives.
- Drive quality and innovation across the service, ensuring timely and effective access to specialist palliative care advice.
- Work collaboratively with the Department of Health, internal RMH stakeholders, and sector partners to enhance care outcomes across the state.
- Lead a dedicated team committed to providing responsive, person-centred palliative care support.
Selection Criteria
We are looking for someone who:
- Is an experienced healthcare leader with a background in palliative care services.
- Brings strong operational management skills, including budgeting, reporting, and team leadership.
- Demonstrates strategic thinking and a proven ability to deliver service improvement and innovation.
- Excels at building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across health, community, and government sectors.
- Holds a current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and relevant postgraduate qualifications in Palliative Care and/or Management.
