The Clinical Services Manager (CSM) is responsible for the operational and clinical management with direct accountability of the clinical workforce including Nursing and the Allied Health practitioners. The role will provide leadership and manage, direct, control and enhance the planning, delivery, and monitoring of high quality, safe clinical services to PCSE clients by qualified and caring clinicians. 

This role works collaboratively with the General Manager of Clinical Services (GMCS) to ensure appropriate resourcing of clinical services and programs including the professional development and occupational health and safety needs of the interdisciplinary clinical workforce. are addressed. The role coordinates the implementation of policies related to the provision of clinical care and specialty services. Promotion, education, learning research and development of the team are integral in the workforce development focus of this leadership role.

Selection Criteria

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience as a clinician and operational manager with proven leadership capability 
  • Demonstrates understanding of the principles and practice of specialist community-based palliative care nursing 
  • Proven ability to the achievement of strategic service goals 
  • Strong focus on service improvement Demonstrated ability to manage a financial budget 
  • Excellent communication and Interpersonal skills both verbal and written 
  • Demonstrate leadership experience including change management, coaching and development, motivating self and others and managing performance 
  • Demonstrated ability to provide coordinated care in partnership with key external service providers 
  • Commitment to the preservation and empowerment of disadvantaged and marginalised individuals and families, including those from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities 
  • Commitment to social justice principles, and specifically to the mission and aims of PCSE 
  • Computer literacy – Microsoft Office suite and clinical electronic databases and business applications
