Peninsula Home Hospice is seeking a Specialist Palliative Care Physician to join our experienced multidisciplinary team providing compassionate, specialist palliative care to people living with life-limiting illness in the community. 

Peninsula Home Hospice provides specialist community-based palliative care, supporting clients and their families to live as well as possible in the place they call home. 

Working alongside our existing Palliative Care Physician and multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to: 

  • Specialist clinical care for clients living with life-limiting illness 
  • Support and guidance for our nursing and allied health teams 
  • Education for staff, GPs and community partners 
  • Ongoing development of high-quality community palliative care services 

This role offers the opportunity to practice holistic palliative medicine in the community, where time, relationships and continuity of care remain central to clinical practice. This is a part-time opportunity (one day per week) with participation in an on-call roster, including alternate weekends.

About the role

The Physician will: 

  • Provide specialist palliative care consultation and clinical oversight 
  • Work collaboratively with nurses, allied health professionals, GPs and local health services 
  • Support symptom management and complex care planning 
  • Contribute to education and mentoring of staff 
  • Assist with service development and quality improvement initiatives
Selection Criteria

We welcome applications from physicians who have:

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) with subspecialty training in Palliative Medicine (FAChPM) or equivalent 
  • Current AHPRA specialist registration 
  • Experience in palliative care across community, hospital or hospice settings 
  • A collaborative and compassionate approach to care 
  • An interest in education, mentoring and service development
